Certified Medical Assistant – CMA – Internal Medicine Summary:
The CMA assists in providing and coordinating care for patients in Internal Medicine.
Float Certified Medical Assistant – CMA Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program required
• CPR certification required
• One-year experience in internal medicine and/or family practice highly preferred
• Certification with American Association of Medical Assistants highly preferred

• Prior Epic experience preferred
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required

Certified Medical Assistant – CMA Responsibilities:

• Rooms patients; assists in procedures; schedules tests/procedures; administers injections; preps charts and abstracts results; cleans and stocks rooms; any may assist with autoclaving.
• Monitors and responds to MyChart requests, result notes, unviewed results, unread message alerts, etc.

• Completes stat prior authorizations and treatment visits for patients who may need a blood pressure check, ear lavage, immunization, etc.
• Works the Epic In Basket and responds to non-symptom based calls from patients regarding refill requests, paperwork, immunization questions, etc.
