We are looking for an Accounting Manager to work as contractor with the Vermont Cannabis Control Board. The role is are full-time, long-term, $27.20 an hour, with remote work available . This contract has the potential to become a full-time role as a permanent state employee.
JOB SUMMARY
This position will assist the Director of Operations in creating the documented processes, and procedures for the VT Cannabis Control board.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable
This position will assist the Director of Operations in creating and documenting the business process for all funds received by Medical Cannabis Program. This includes reviewing current process and documents, and incorporating those into the Draft Business Office Manual.
Medical Cannabis Program currently accepts electronic payment processing that will need a new business process for Business Office to support and administer. No current process is documented for post deposit steps.
This person will serve as liaison between NIC Director of Operations, to ensure all details are in place for the program to transition smoothly.
Accounts Payables
The Business Office will create a paperless AP process and will slowly transition from AoA support to inhouse processing. This will include taking oversite of Purchasing Card when well documented process is in place.
Self-Assessment of Internal Controls
Using SoV’s Guide for Internal Controls, assist Director of Operations in creating plan for reporting to F&M in all areas above once process is migrated from DPS and AoA to CCB in order to provide for annual review.
Contracts
This person will assist the Director of Operations in creating payment processing guidelines and implement process for paying against existing contracts with CCB and Medical Cannabis programs.
End of Year Processing
This position will ass the Director of Operations in preparing action steps to ensure that Year End Closing steps are outlined are covered for FY22 with help of AoA. Plans to be fully self-sufficient for FY23 will be in place with the goal of transitioning from AoA after 7/1/22.
