Reporting directly into the SVP of Finance this role is responsible for performing all duties related to closing, analysis & reporting of the Company’s Financial results each month for the Company. Partnering with the rest of the members of the team, this individual will have exposure to the full closing process, responsible for the closing of certain key accounting matters, consolidation and reporting of the financials. Further, the Company is mid-project on implementing its first ERP allowing this person to garner experience that will be invaluable for the rest of their career.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing the month close process primarily around certain key accounts such as payroll, cash, credit cards and debts, including preparing journal entries
• Responsible for the consolidation and financial reporting of the Company’s financial reporting. This includes reviewing, analyzing and interpreting all financials results of our foreign subs, specifically China.
• Present monthly results, post-consolidation, to the CFO, CEO and COO, detailing the trends, key performance indicators, performance evaluation and recommend cost management recommendations.
• Work with the FP&A team in comparing actual results with the budgeted information.
• Ensure accuracy & timeliness of income statements, balance sheets & other financial reports
• Assist with implementing internal controls & accounting policies & procedures to promote effective governance & accurate financial reporting
• Provide direction & mentoring of Accountant based in Shenzen, China.
• Work closely with the operations team focusing on revenue planning and management processes
• Research technical accounting issues & provide expert advice/guidance
• Assist in managing & coordinate the annual audit process
• Partner with the ERP team & help lead the implementation & automation of general ledger items.
• Assist with coordination of quarterly & annual income tax process
• Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Accounting experience of 3-5 years required
• Big 4 experience a plus
• Able to multi-task in a very fast-paced start-up environment
• Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface at all levels both internally & externally
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to lead a team
• Must be detailed-oriented & organized
• Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, sum if, indirect, etc)
