The Employee Health Tracer/Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care and support within the department. They are responsible for accurately completing patient interviews, collects appropriate specimens, administration of injections, phlebotomy and service-line specific clinical skills. The Employee Health Tracer/Certified Medical Assistant ensures direct patient care as directed by the provider.
The Employee Health Tracer/Certified Medical Assistant will assist with the needs of the department related to employee health surveillance requirements, periodic regulatory surveys, and other needs associated with employee health.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Some health science knowledge preferred. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certification in Phlebotomy ASCO preferred. BLSHCP certified. Must be a graduate of a post-secondary Medical Assistant Program accredited by a national accrediting agency such as the National Healthcare Association (NHA), or its successor, The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association (CAHEA), or its successor; Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or its successor; or any accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The program must have a minimum of 330 hours or instruction, with special training around medication administration as per the NJ Board of Medical Examiners requires. All Certified Medical Assistants must maintain active National Certification with a certifying agency approved by NJ (i.e. American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) National Center of Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health Career Association (NHA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), Board of Medical Examiners (BME), required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2-3 years related experience required. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently required. Proficiency working knowledge and ability in Microsoft Office Applications and or other database management tools required. Excellent communication and reasoning skills are required. WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position has the potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the medical office environment, blood borne pathogens, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires desk/computer work, considerable reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, sitting and walking. a majority of the time. This position requires some standing and walking and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds required. This position requires long period of telephone work. This position requires frequent lifts 25-50 lbs and occasionally lifts 50-100 lbs.
