DEAN, DENTAL COLLEGE OF GEORGIA
Augusta University (AU) invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for a
visionary and strategic leader with a proven commitment to academic excellence and shared decision making to serve as its next Dean, Dental
College of Georgia (DCG).
The Dean is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of the Dental College,
ensuring the highest quality education and research programs, as well as providing effective administration and fiscal management.
The Dean will serve as the chief executive of the College and will lead the College in the development and support of strong educational,
research, and clinical programs appropriate to the College’s mission. The Dean will also be responsible for implementing University
and College policies, overseeing all support services for the College and addressing the needs of students, faculty and staff. The Dean will
foster the establishment of strategic goals of the College, coordinating the departments to achieve the College’s mission in alignment
with the initiatives to continue to advance research, patient care and academic programs. The Dean will also guide the College through a
positive cultural shift with the support of administration and dedicated faculty, staff, and students.
The Dental College of Georgia
is committed to growing in its purpose of teaching, patient care, research, and service. Since inception, they have graduated nearly 3,000
dentists who are now providing oral healthcare in Georgia and around the world. Established in 1969, the DCG is the state’s sole
dental college now providing education and training for more than 400 dental students and approximately 60 residents per year. In addition
to offering a high-quality education in our state-of-the-art facilities, they provide care to nearly 50,000 patients each year, some
traveling across the state or more to be treated by our students, residents, and faculty.
The ideal candidate will be an, educator,
clinician, and researcher with an understanding oral health care delivery and the search for new knowledge.
The Dean will hold a
D.M.D. or D.D.S. and a license to practice dentistry in one of the fifty United States or Puerto Rico.
In addition, the successful
candidate should ideally possess the following:

College of Georgia; the nationally ranked James M. Hull College of Business; the Katherine Reese Pamplin School of Arts, Humanities and
Social Sciences; Education and Human Development; Science and Mathematics; Allied Health Sciences; The Graduate School; Nursing; and the
School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.
With locations throughout Augusta and at satellite campuses in Athens, Albany, Rome and Savannah,

Research plays an important role in Augusta University’s mission of providing
leadership and excellence in teaching, discovery, clinical care and service. AU’s clinical and translational research programs focus on three key areas: cancer, cardiometabolic disease and
neurological disease. AU researchers are also developing three emerging areas of research strength: regenerative and reparative medicine,
personalized medicine and genomics, and public and preventive health. Graduate and undergraduate students have opportunities to conduct and
present research, and many participate in faculty-led research.

Augusta
University Health consists of Augusta University Medical Center – a 478-bed main adult critical care hospital, the 154-bed Children’s
Hospital of Georgia (the largest children’s hospital in Georgia outside of Atlanta), a Critical Care Center (a 13-county Level 1
regional trauma center), more than 80 outpatient practice sites, and the Georgia Cancer Center.
