Job description
Durable Medical Equipment Technician / Driver
Must have clean driver license. No points on license. Must pass background test and drug test.
Delivers, instructs, and educates medical equipment and supplies to customers in their place of residence, office and other settings. Cleans, disinfects, and functionally checks medical equipment to ensure in compliance with recommended standards. Provides exceptional patient care service.
· Safely drives and maintains company vehicles.
· Securely loads and stages delivery vehicles.
· Functionally checks and selects ordered medical equipment and supplies.
· Provides education, training, retraining and fitting for respiratory and sleep medical equipment including the fitting of the interface device under the supervision on the clinical director.
· Completes follow up care, plan of care to ensure the patient is compliant with the physician orders.
· Prioritizes and coordinates deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls in an efficient manner.
· Educates home care customers and other end users on medical equipment and supply use by covering key operating features and performing demonstrations.
· Interacts with patients and customers that may be of various ages.
· Performs assessments and reassessments of each customer’s care or service needs.
· Documents the customer’s response to care or services provided, the actions and interventions taken, and the outcomes of the care or services provided. Using electronic and written devices.
· Completes plans of care as appropriate to the level of care provided.
· Travels to the locations needed as designated by the clinical director to provide services
· Collects accurate patient information to support care, service and treatment operations, which includes demographic, billing, and medical information.
· Refers service complaints and compliments to appropriate personnel.
· Participates in traditional and e-learning programs.
· Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures.
· Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments
