HR SPECIALIST (Part-Time) – WAITE PARK, MN
The HR Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the day-to-day aspects of the base HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, benefit plans, reporting, etc. The incumbent will assist with the initial phases of recruiting such as taking applications, screening applicants, and performing background checks. The HR Specialist is also responsible for coordinating the recordkeeping and processing of bi-monthly payroll entry.
Primary Job Responsibilities
·Provides general administrative support for all HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll, etc.
·Primary lead for all payroll preparation, which includes reviewing and processing all transactions on each payroll by the processing deadline, posting transactions, reviewing, and balancing reports, etc.
·Posts open positions on job board(s), recruits, screens applicants, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
·Assists with the onboarding and offboarding process.
·Assists with benefits administration. Responsible for annual benefit enrollment, including educating employees on benefit changes.
·Assists in administration of unemployment, disability, FMLA, and workers’ compensation leaves/claims, including coordinating return-to-work and reviewing accommodation requests.
·Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; or equivalent work experience required. Two (2) years of professional Human Resources experience preferred. Experience with ADP Workforce Now Suite preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and mathematical skills required.
