Accountant – Financial Analytics Hybrid, Oceanport, NJ
Job Summary: The accountant will assist with the monthly close and be a business partner who will assist others understand financial information
Requirements and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Creates monthly close journal entries, reconciliations, account analyses, and accruals
Analysis general ledger accounts of detail, accuracy, and make appropriate reclass, prepaid entries, and follow ups
Provides sufficient and appropriate supporting documentation for all journal entries
Assists department heads research budget variances and with plans to offset
Follows up on account analyses and accruals with department heads to insure accuracy and gains understanding for department operations
Identifies, researches, and provides recommendations for resolution to any accounting issues, has a comprehensive understanding of accounting in accordance with GAAP
Routinely review vendor statements for accurate recording of outstanding balances, and work with AP/purchasing resolve discrepancies, duplicate invoices, misapplied invoices, and miscoding
Identifies and research reasons for potential delays in payment or other issues
Analysis FTE s, Charges, Stats, and reconcile data
Must be highly proficient in Excel, a self-motivator who leads and takes initiative
Have excellent interpersonal skills and a keen analytic mind
Completes special projects, ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting,
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in professional accounting, preferably in a healthcare setting,
Demonstrate the ability to prepare, analyze, and maintain various financial reports,
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures,
Peoplesoft experience preferred
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of business professionals at all levels of the organization
