Our Candidate Search
Seeking an exceptional team player to join our group of skilled Portfolio Accountants and perform accounting requirements for multiple companies as assigned. The Portfolio Accountant position requires an individual that is detail oriented, highly flexible, focused, a quick learner, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities. The successful candidate will not only excel working on their own but will have a solid track record of outstanding teamwork with professionals at all levels. Salary will be based on experience, we list our starting salary for the range.
Job Responsibilities:
· Act as the main point accounting contact for the property managers
· Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
· Monitor, review and accrue revenue and expenses
· Conducts month end close process
· Prepare and request monthly bank draws for CapEx and tenant improvements based on job cost reports
· Prepare accurate and timely financial statement packages for assigned portfolio with, supporting schedules
· Perform monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including schedules for loans, impounds, property, insurance, and other accounts receivable.
· Prepares amortization and depreciation schedule every 6 months
· Prepare, analyze, and review annual property budgets
· Analyze, research, and explain actual to budget variances
· Report monthly to the other departments and lenders
· Communicates any deviations from accounting policies and procedures to the Controller
· Completes tasks or projects as requested
· Responsible for other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
· Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel,
· Great analytical and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of accounting software. Sage experience preferred.
· Understanding of the Real Estate Development and Property Management industries
· Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (Speaking, listening, and writing, which includes spelling and grammar accuracy)
· Flexible and collaborative work style, works well with varying personalities in a team environment
· Ability to seek, suggest, and apply continuous improve processes
· I can “do” attitude
· Must be reliable and punctual
· Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
Education and Experience Requirements
· At least 2 years of accounting experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree (preferred)
· Knowledge of Sage Timberline (Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate) software (preferred)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· Professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines
· Mainly sedentary role though some filing and supply maintenance requires the ability to lift files and supplies, open cabinets, bend, crouch, stand, and walk
