POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist performs advanced level human resources functions in employee relations, benefit administration, training, performance management, leave management, complaint investigations, ADA, and HRIS support. This position assists with conducting complex duties requiring analysis and decision making when interpreting rules and regulations and making evaluations from ambiguous data. This is a key part of the HR team that leads best practice initiatives.
This is an exempt position that reports to the HR Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Provide guidance to managers in preparing performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and terminations
o Conduct internal investigations in conjunction with the appropriate resources and partnering with corporate legal support to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and company direction.
o Receive complaints, perform fact finding, research policy, and provide recommendations
o Create and maintain related confidential records and documents
o Utilize interactive process and interest-based negotiation to resolve complex needs
o Assess the pulse of the organization to identify opportunities for increased employee engagement and alignment with the organization’s values; Recommend actions to effect positive change based on employee relations and performance management data, implementing strategies as appropriate
o Act as single point of contact for benefit questions and concerns, escalating employee concerns to carrier or broker as needed
o Maintain plan documentation and employee resources via benefits resource library
o Update related internal documents with benefits information (Employee Handbook, policies, procedures, etc.)
o Facilitate and plan annual open enrollment
o Audit current programs and practices and modify or implement new programs or processes to achieve acceptable standards
o Write, revise, edit and proofread company policies and procedures and related documents
o Utilize information to document job descriptions, draft job postings and support organizational design activities
o Create and maintain digital job description libraries
