CDL A Driver – 1099 Independent Contractor

Location: South Florida and Miami, FL

At BBG Logistics, you can:

• Earn Up to 75 CPM!
• Or earn 30% of the load booked, you decide
• Depending on freight and residence, be out for 1+ weeks
• Home Time:
• 2 weeks out 2-3 days home
• 3 weeks out 3-4 days home
• 25 days out 5 days home
• SE and NE Regions with some MW
• Drive a manual 10-speed w/dry van or reefer
• Fuel Bonus opportunities are paid quarterly as follows:
• Retention Bonus $2,500 over a 1-year time (180 days = $1,000 dollars and 1 year anniversary $1500)
• Pet rider program

To be considered for this position, you need to be:

• At least 23 years old
• Have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) for at least 2 years
• Have a minimum of 4 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Hold a clean driving record (No violations in the last 3 years)
• Must pass Drug & Road Test
• Being bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Transport goods to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• Drive no more than a maximum of 60 hours over seven days or 70 hours over eight days

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, etc)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
