The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Division in SPA supports the Department of Defense in developing leading edge technologies and supporting strategy, policy, and operations to bolster deterrence and counter weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in support of services and all combatant commands (CCMDs). We assist government leaders and program managers to transition technologies and operational capabilities to services and special forces to prevent, reduce, and counter WMD and emerging threats, and prevail against WMD-armed adversaries in conflict. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counterforce, and emerging threats to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of all military and civilian operations. We also provide essential operational and technological support to the government to enhance the nation’s nuclear deterrent mission.
SPA and an immediate need for a Military Operations Analyst – Junior.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on projects by providing research and development (R&D) analysis to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Research and Development Chemical Biological Department with emphasis on support to the Joint Technology Advancement Team (JTAT) by: acting as an integrator and advisor between Science and Technology Managers, DoD scientists and engineers, and Warfighters; informing design of, operational coordination of, and advisement of Warfighter engagement events; facilitating analysis of concepts and early technologies for operational considerations (military utility, form, fit, function, CONOPS/CONEMPS, etc); and attending relevant enterprise and technical meetings, reviews, conferences, and the like in order to stay informed of current and ongoing work and maintain an informed perspective of developments across the organization and enterprise. Support collaboration with other Chemical Biological Divisions to guide and inform the identification and validation of technology concepts to ensure they are relevant to the Warfighter and the enterprise, account for and not duplicative of (to the best of their knowledge) other ongoing work within and external to the enterprise, and within the scope of the organization and enterprise mission.
