Requirement:

• Minimum three years of professional experience working for an FMC licensed OTI (Ocean Transport Intermediary) , either NVOCC or OFF (ocean freight forwarder), or ocean carrier in the USA. So minimum 3+ years of ocean freight forwarding experience! Minimum 3+ years of NVOCC experience is a plus.

• Meet the requirements for being a “Qualifying Individual” as required for FMC OTI licensing. Can provide three references who will confirm your OTI experience based their direct business dealings with you in the past. The references will be required to respond to calls and emails from the FMC, and confirm your OTI experience.
• You must have SSN and are authorized to work in the USA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related.
• Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations and other government requirements.

• Proven ability to establish or enhance ocean import/export operational functions. Results oriented with the drive to grow an international ocean freight forwarding business.
• Proven analytical and written skills and ability to communicate timely information to internal and external parties. – Excellent communication (written, verbal) skills, attention to all details, computer savvy, strong working knowledge of industry resources – online and offline.
• Excellent mathematical analysis skills for optimizing shipping and processes. – Ability to identify potential problems before they occur and proactively resolve situations efficiently, effectively and thoroughly regardless of the cause.
• Ability to manage the day to day interactions with contracted external service providers. Strong phone and computer skills, including internet navigation, shipping software, and various office applications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and ensure all bills of ocean freight, air cargo, and other related invoices are accurate processed in time.
• Communicate and interact with our overseas shipping team, US office, carriers, vendors, and customers, as well as internal warehouse team members and customer service representatives to ensure proper order status, delivery arrangements, and service – Create best practices and SOP for all imports, domestic, and export shipping via carrier, air, ocean, or rail.
• Trace, track, and expedite shipping/delivery processes including Arrival Notice data entry, rate verification, ISF filing, Customs documentation, and others. Organize shipping and receiving files, both manually and electronically
• Work with Accounting Dept and customs broker to ensure shipments are cleared on time.
• Find new resources to expand shipping capacity and efficiency including negotiating with carriers, brokers, and other 3PL. Strong knowledge of Amazon FBA and other distribution center scheduling and receiving procedures.

• Serve as the “Qualifying Individual” as required for FMC OTI licensing.

This role will be instrumental and responsible for the development and growth of the International Ocean Freight Forwarding business. This individual must have the proven success, knowledge, and experience in the industry to help establish best practices while progressively growing a team. The Operator will work closely with global ocean carriers, air cargo carriers, domestic freight companies, end consignees, and brokers, to ensure timely arrival and delivery of containers from Asia to our US warehouses and other domestic distribution end points. Logistics Operators are required to document and report every shipping procedure, status, and update that they manage including container shipments, truck arrangements, carriers, brokers, Amazon FBA, and other distribution points.
