Tax Accountant Job Summary

BeanLab, a fast-growing accounting and advisory company, is looking to add to the tax team a goal-driven tax accountant who enthusiastically loves all things taxes and enjoys working with a team to accomplish company goals. The ideal candidate should ensure confidentiality, provide excellent service with integrity to the clients, and value collaboration with the team.

To ensure success, you should be knowledgeable of regulations, provide excellent service to clients, and maintain the high standard set by the organization. In addition, you need to be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills to handle correspondence from clients and tax authorities.

We prefer candidates who are local to the Elgin, IL area who will be available to work in the office 1-2 days each week, and remote the remainder of the time. The job will require a full time 40 hours per week with tax season requiring approximately 50 hrs per week (tax season is February – April).

Responsibilities:

• Prepare or assist in preparing medium to complex tax returns for individuals and businesses.

• Provide tax planning and projections for individual and business clients along with tax minimization strategies.

• Prepare miscellaneous tax returns such as sales tax, excise, and city tax returns.

• Be able to prepare clear and detailed workpapers supporting the prepared tax returns.

• Provide value add tax research for projects as needed.

• Communicate directly with client results of tax returns.

Tax Preparer Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience with tax returns

• Experience with individual and business tax returns

• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Must ensure confidentiality

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• CPA license or E.A. preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
