We are currently seeking an experienced Government Relations Specialist to expand our Government Law and Lobbying practice located in our Fort Lauderdale office. The Government Relations Specialistis responsible for assisting the Attorneys and Lobbyist assigned to them with the day-to-day operations of their practice and clients. This person should possess good communication skills.

We are currently seeking an experienced Government Relations Specialist to expand our Government Law and Lobbying practice located in our Fort Lauderdale office. The Government Relations Specialist is responsible for assisting the Attorneys and Lobbyist assigned to them with the day-to-day operations of their practice and clients. This person should possess good communication skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend meetings to monitor issues before governmental bodies, committees and other elected and appointed officials.
• Attend meetings with clients as required.
• Conduct research on client related matters.
• Monitor government web sites for business opportunities and track meeting calendars for client-related matters.
• Monitor government meeting agendas and minutes for such meetings on a regular basis.
• Track legislation as required.

Must have the Following:

• Bachelors Degree
• Experience with persuasively communicating complex concepts to policymakers and business leaders
• 3-5 years Governmental Relations, External Affairs or Corporate Relations and Communication experience
• Minimal travel required
• Working knowledge of LobbyTools is a plus
