Bednark Studio is seeking Cabinetmakers / Millworkers. This role is responsible for keeping their assigned projects on pace through production. They receive technical drawings and establish priorities according to the production schedule. They oversee a small team of carpenters and the spaces they work in to safely and efficiently complete their scope of work and are responsible for troubleshooting any unforeseen issues that arise in the production process.
Requirements:
- Background in Finish Carpentry / Cabinet Making / Commercial and Residential Millwork
- Proficient with all shop equipment and practices: panel saws, shaper, planer/jointer, edgebander, power hand tools.
- Strong knowledge in hardwood and veneer processing
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings, architectural blueprints, and renderings
- Basic knowledge of calculations and measurements.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and complete jobs with demanding deadlines while keeping great attention to detail.
- Maintains strong knowledge of in-line assembly processes, systems, and tools.
- Highly motivated and high level of initiative; confidence to work independently and with a team, in support of project goals and objectives
- High energy level is required with the ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Communicate with other departments clearly about project status when elements are completed/passed into the next department.
- Available to work overtime and weekends, as needed
Required Professional Skills:
- Minimum 10 years working in a millwork setting
- Strong record of reliable attendance and punctuality
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Works well in a team environment to achieve a common goal
- Excellent problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail
- Must be a good communicator
- Adheres to company safety guidelines
