SUMMARY
The HR Generalist is based at Bell and Howell’s Durham, NC HQ office, with operations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and reports directly to the Director, Employee Experience and HRIS. This position has overall responsibility for supporting managers and employees in maintaining a consistent, fair, and engaging company culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigates and provides coaching to employees and managers to resolve workplace issues including, but not limited to internal investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, workplace conflicts, grievances, etc.
Coaches and assists managers in preparing performance improvement plans, correction action documentation, and conversations with their reports.
Responsible for employee relation case file management and recordkeeping.
Assists with the development and delivery of training as appropriate on employee relations issues, policies, and procedures.
Provides compensation analysis and recommendations as needed.
Conducts exit interviews and provides analysis on turnover trends.
Manages employee onboarding and offboarding needs, including ownership over the new hire orientation experience.
Leads special project initiatives within the HR department.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Industrial & Labor Relations required.
Minimum of 4 years in total HR experience or Master’s degree in HR with minimum of 2 years in HR required.
Minimum of 3 years of handling employee relation issues strongly preferred.
Experience in nationwide/Multi-Site environment preferred.
Workday knowledge preferred.
Experience in a service organization preferred.
Travel:
This position requires minimal travel.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
Ability to type on a keyboard.
Ability to hear and talk.
Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Requires close vision for computer work and reviewing correspondence.
