PURPOSE:
The Human Resources team here at Berry Global is a core group of professionals who help maintain employment along with handling all employee related tasks. The individual holding this position is responsible to perform HR – related duties located in Evansville, Indiana. The HR Coordinator will work closely with the Human Resources Team in supporting HR functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, employment law compliance, payroll, salary administration, and benefits. The individual will be the a contact for employees for general human resources questions, benefits issues, resolution of payroll discrepancies and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Administers HRIS system changes for employees.
Serves as a primary point of contact for specific department functions and assists with employee relation issues, questions, and concerns
Works with Human Resources organization on various HR initiatives
Assists with recruiting by working with calendar entries, travel, background checks, reference checks, offer letters, and relocation
Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt corporate personnel; conducts new hire orientation
Coordinates monthly HR meetings and other logistical/calendar arrangements as required
Super-user of the Recruiting Management System (RMS) and HRIS software
Files and maintains employee files on daily basis
Serves as primary point of contact for specific employee questions such as benefits, 401k, and onboarding
Manages disability and leave of absence processes with employees for FMLA, STD and LTD while ensuring adherence to ADA and HIPAA.
Maintains, updates and ensures accuracy of information in HRIS (Infinium)
Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing
Audits employment related documents for accuracy and compliance
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
Builds relationships with staff at all levels of the organization
Completes special projects as established by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and developing and organizing information and fulfilling transactions
Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
Responsible for making sure that staffing requirements for every work shift comply with staffing standards.
Responsible for ensuring that attendance tracking system is enforced across all departments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated Human Resources experience
Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities along with strong time management and prioritization skills
Excellent people skills
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be familiar with employment law and standard HR concepts, practices and procedures, along with proven ability to apply that knowledge
Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality, have a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated
