Director of Construction
Energetic, detailed team player needed to lead our Construction team!
We have a full-time opportunity for a Director of Construction professional to lead the Construction Department and coordinate the quality construction of residential homes/condominium units/multifamily buildings while maintaining cost effectiveness. This position is responsible for:
Overall:
· Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction while controlling costs
· Develop and implement departmental policy and procedures.
· Analyze, develop and ensure the on-going continuous improvement of processes, methods and productivity, while reducing costs.
· Monitor supply of vehicles, tools, equipment, storage, inventory and human resources to support departmental work.
· Develop and implement new systems to increase department efficiencies.
Permitting:
· Monitor departmental workflow and workload, ensuring work is on schedule.
· Coordinate with the department manager to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
Construction:
· Oversee construction by recruiting subcontractors in coordination with the COO.
· Ensure the meeting of building deadlines and budgets and quality standards.
· Address and resolve customer and/or subcontractor inquiries and problems regarding the construction of new homes, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
· Perform site inspections as needed to identify problems and develop a resolution.
· Plan, monitor and manage workflow demands. Prepare the department for increased or decreased workflow as needed, analyzing manpower and subcontractor requirements and reacting appropriately.
· Address and resolve extreme customer problems personally.
Warranty:
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of appropriate warranty work.
· Address and resolve customer issues, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
· Address and resolve extreme customer issues personally.
· Provide assistance to Warranty as requested to review major expenditures.
Scheduling:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Construction Management and five to seven years of related experience – a combination of education and experience will be considered. Prospective candidates must be detail-oriented, possessing the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, be self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
