The BILSTEIN facility in Bowling Green, KY is the company’s first United States manufacturing operation and serves the automotive industry as well as, the saw and tooling industry with tailor-made steel grades. BILSTEIN Cold Rolled Steel has doubled its revenue each year during it is first 3 years. As a young company we continue to plan further expansion in organic growth.

Position: IT/SAP Specialist

This position will support through various avenues including process design, system utilization and SAP support operations objectives that impact the bottom line in an exciting, challenging and performance driven organization. It is essential that you are transparent and lead in a collaborative way.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Help improve SAP processes to eliminate manual work, duplicate entry, hand offs and delays.
• Work with SAP process experts in IT and the business both here and in Germany to support what is live plus design and implement what is needed and planned.
• Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot SAP related problems
• Design innovative process changes, software utilization and reporting that add qualitative and/or quantitative value to the company.
• Help create and deliver documentation formalizing SAP changes such as support tickets, program specs, process flows, training material and training.
• Work closely with departmental managers to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the SAP system and all it touches
• Work with operations to ensure the shop floor has necessary labels for materials and any other SAP related information.
• Participate in maintaining of Quality Management System as it pertains to Material Technology including audits, as necessary.
• Assist in projects as needed.

Qualifications/Training:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or commensurate work experience
• Working knowledge of SAP software in production order environment
• ABAP programming and/or ABAP Query is helpful
• Metal Industry experience is helpful
• Reading and speaking German is a plus
• Interaction with users in various ways
• Remote working will be possible in the midterm.
