Job Description Proper packing and paperwork on all items leaving the building this includes but is not limited to:
- Safe packaging to prevent damage during shipment
- Appropriate markings on packages to inform customer and freight forwarder of safe handling of packages
- Confirm ordered items to sales order before packaging
- Confirm all paperwork required for shipment
- Have ability to load trucks
- Knowledge of UPS & FedEx system
- Maintain shipping photo library
- Maintain library of common crate sizes and specialize crates
- Keep a clean neat working area (sweep floor daily to clear of sawdust)
- Order shipping supplies as needed
This position also provides coverage for receiving and the stockroom for vacation days and when shipping is not busy so experience in these areas would be extremely beneficial to anyone interested in this position. Candidates must be able to lift and move 50+lbs on a continuous basis, be familiar with bill of lading and related shipping document requirements. Prior knowledge of fork truck operation is helpful, but on-site training can be provided.
