The Safety & HR Technician preforms audits and safety training, in addition to human resources-related issues in a manufacturing and logistics environment. The technician provides continuous improvement support to customers and to Bluegrass while supporting the staffing process by conducting new hire orientations. The technician will conduct safety investigations, analyze and report on any accidents or unsafe events and provide support on preventive solutions and countermeasures. The technician will have knowledge of and will enforce regulatory requirements (i.e. DOL, OSHA, EPA, etc.), including customer and company safety and HR policies and procedures.

. Requirements:
Some of your Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts frequent safety audits through the iAuditor system

Conducts orientation with new team members

Maintains effective customer relationships to ensure satisfaction with all safety functions

Prepares Safety reports where applicable

Observe Safety regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel

Provides support to HR Director, Safety Manager, and site leadership by ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner

Supports production and safety objectives by assisting with action plans; proposing production, productivity, safety, and customer-service standards; assisting with identifying and resolving problems; assisting with audits and proposing system improvements.

Assists with hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; helping to identify critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures and monitoring inventories.

Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Identifies and immediately corrects potential safety hazards in the facility

You’ll also need to have:
Two years of experience in OSHA Safety compliance

Basic knowledge of HR and safety regulations

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Must be able to conduct safety training

Forklift Experience

Education and Experience:
Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences is preferred.

A minimum of 2-years of experience in a Human Resources or Environmental, Health and Safety position
