Bob Evans Farms operates in multiple convenience foods categories within grocery and club. It holds #1 market positions in three major categories. This winning brand has been experiencing strong growth, a trend it’s expecting to continue mostly through its leadership in the refrigerated dinner and breakfast categories. Bob Evans Farms products are distributed nationally in retailers throughout North America.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the monitoring of the general flow of inventory replenishment and customer sales orders to ensure proper scheduling of truck departure/delivery times, investigating, inspecting and initiating claims on over, short or damaged shipments, establishing new relationships with transportation services and delivery companies, and optimum shipment routing. All Logistics Analysts and will report directly to the Logistics Manager.
Accountabilities:
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing performance issues.
• Oversees the planning, staffing, and day-to-day Transportation planning operations in a cost-effective manner.
• Manages and prioritizes transportation requests from customers, scheduling of driver load assignments, and dispatches drivers and vehicles. Responsible for the proper operation and oversight of the route-scheduling system.
• Operates as a subject matter expert for the Transportation Management System (TMS) platform.
• Analyzes customer needs and makes recommendations for developing, implementing, improving, and expanding transportation services, programs, and policies.
• Assists in determining equipment and staffing requirements for daily operational needs. Performs short and long-range transportation system planning as instructed by the Director of Transportation
Position Description
• Assesses cost-saving measures through working closely with drivers, dispatchers, and software. Must embrace cross-functionality of initiatives that would also include Finance, Logistics, Sales, and suppliers.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide unparalleled customer service.
• Leverages the fleet’s drivers and equipment, along with the organization’s carrier/broker partners, in a manner that consistently provides the organization with the lowest landed costs.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction. Must be a self-motivated self-starter.
• Must possess the ability to always maintain external and internal confidentiality.
Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in transportation or supply chain management.
• Experience managing a private fleet and backhaul optimization preferred.
• Experience managing federal, state, and local regulations, and programs relating to transit.
• Ability to balance multiple project timelines and priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Oracle Transportation Management, and BluJay Solutions platforms.
Skills:
• Maintain a positive attitude and collaborative approach to accomplish team objectives and drive key projects to completion.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with company peers and Post Holdings partners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, within tight timelines and have CPG retailer understanding.
• Strong interpersonal skills – Listening and informing others effectively; excellent negotiating and influencing skills at all levels both internal and external.
