The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to

the quality required, and in the most cost-effective way. Oversees the transportation of goods from BOMAG

America’s (BA) facility to the customer. This manager will also be responsible for the overall logistics strategy of the

BA organization and improving processes with the logistics operation to enhance the customer experience.

Position Responsibilities – Essential

• Lead the creation and implementation of a best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
• Oversee the coordination of all materials and equipment movement within any portion of the logistics structure that is under BA span of control.
• Establish and maintain internal policy and procedure related to customs in partnership with our customs partner.
• This includes record keeping, HTS classification, customs database maintenance, Support Procurement and Sales in their non-standard operational need but also ensure all regulatory declarations are completed and BOMAG remains in full compliance.
• Work directly and communicate effectively with Materials Manager, Director of Operations, Finance, EHS/Maintenance Coordinator, HR, Purchasing, Sales Admin, Sales, Finance, and Quality departments.
• Ensure high levels of performance by analyzing data and practices, study appropriate work methods, define process changes, and implement corrective actions.
• Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others while recommending optimal transport modes, routes or frequency.
• Evaluate logistics operations by liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.
• Develop and manage the logistics budget for the BA organization.
• Approve all carrier logistics cost (invoice, surcharge) for payment processing (could be with 3rd party or with AP (internal).
• Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, and customer issues.
• Assist in the selection of logistics suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria.
• Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
• Ensure logistic technology systems are in place and effective in the support of managing and executing transportation activities.
• Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available.
• Hold all team members accountable to comply with the expected standards of conducts by teaching, coaching, facilitating a productive work group.
• Always maintain professional demeanor, while constantly improving leadership and supervisory skills.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Business Unit Leader.
• Promote and conduct good housekeeping skills (5S).
• Act ethically and socially responsible at all times.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure the reporting of all accidents, unsafe actions, and conditions happen in an accurate and timely manner according to the established policies and procedures. Properly conduct root cause analysis and implement appropriate countermeasures.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Relevant business/commercial undergraduate degree.
• Prior logistics/supply chain/transportation management within an industrial environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of technical attributes and regulations related to a logistics function such as import/export and custom regulations as well as DOT transport regulations.
• Knowledge of standard logistics operating practices such as contract negotiations, pricing, routing consolidation, and varied methods of delivery.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong professional working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Motivated self-starter and team player.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to work flexible schedule as needed.
• Capability to plan effectively, set priorities, make sound decisions, and to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems, manage time, adapt to changing work conditions, and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,022.00 – $98,702.00 per year
