This role will join our Dallas and Southwest System Staffing team, which drives the team development of BCG’s most important asset – its people. Our team is seeking a Staffing Assistant to provide critical logistical, relational, and administrative support. This role is ideal for someone passionate about a career in the HR/People space, and who thrives in fast-paced environments while maintaining a keen attention to detail.

Consulting teams are thoughtfully staffed to balance the needs of the individual, the firm, and our clients. The Staffing Assistant will support the Talent Managers in the full life cycle of the staffing process, will ensure accurate data management, and will liaise with other key Business Services teams. This role will also develop meaningful connections with our consulting staff to facilitate a transparent and rapid flow of information.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
Staffing Process Support
Provide support to the Staffing function by tracking casework assignments and billing arrangements for non-partner consulting staff:
Assist with outreach to current case teams to confirm upcoming end dates for all consultants; filter information back to Talent Managers and action as required
Respond to ad-hoc requests for information related to staffing opportunities, availability, staffing data/reports, consultant information and availability
Request updated staffing bios from consulting staff and upload to individual BCG Navigator pages (intranet)
Assist with searches for consulting staff with specific expertise for proposals and sold work
Collect all required data from case leadership to open a new staffing request
Send the base list options to case leadership after initial staffing request is made
Manage the end-to-end process of short-term staffing in the time between formal assignments for Dallas consultants
Develop working relationships with all members of the Dallas office to facilitate the information flow to provide timely, transparent information
Support Dallas-based Dual Hat Staffers with reporting and administrative assistance
Respond to special projects and other internal requests as needed
Review email chains and filter for information that is relevant/necessary to take action
Staffing System Data Management
Maintain and update all individual staffing assignments, availability and related data in the Staffing database
Assignment start / end dates
Billing and case code assignments
Vacation time, scheduled trainings, and LOAs (working with HR)
Notes on upcoming availability
Public comments on case experiences and recent managers
Performance highlights after the completion of every assignment
Generate weekly consulting staff availability reports for the Talent Management and Staffing team
Create project and resource request entries in online staffing system
Gather staffing data, analyze and prepare reports on consultant deployment and investments as needed
Report quickly and accurately on the assignments and billing arrangement of all non-MDP consulting staff in the office(s) they serve
Finance, HR & Information Management Liaison
Coordinate with Managing Directors & Partners, their delegates, local finance, and other North America offices to:
Identify or open the appropriate codes for staffing assignments
Ensure investment requests are transparent and have been approved by the relevant parties
Track and appropriately distribute investment funding across offices as relevant
Monitor case budget for ongoing projects
Provide case codes, billing instructions and information to consulting staff and other North America staffers as needed
Work with Talent Management and Finance team to review consultant billing, missing timesheets, and leakage report each week and request corrections as necessary
Create Information Management (IM) teamsites for each new DAL case
Work with the IM team to ensure teamsites are opened and closed in a timely manner
Regional Coordination
Facilitate the weekly South System Staffing Team pipeline calls
Make all necessary adjustments to the internal and published pipeline
Represent Dallas and occasionally the South System on bi-monthly North America Regional Staffing calls
Perform other duties and projects required
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
1-3 years of administrative support or human resources experience, preferably at a professional services firm
Competencies:
Highly organized, attentive to detail, responsive to all forms of communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable reaching out to unknown colleagues by phone, email & messaging
Proactive approach to driving work forward
Intellectual curiosity to understand meaning of each task
Keen ability to understand interdependencies and implications of disparate tasks and information
Numeric proficiency and experience managing financial data
Proficient computer skills: MS Office with a strong preference for substantial Excel and PowerPoint experience
YOU’LL WORK WITH
In this role, you will partner with the DAL Talent Management team, the full South System Staffing team, DAL Career Development, South Finance, and DAL HR to support the consulting cohorts and BCG’s business.
