Job Description

Role

Under the leadership of the Director of Policy and with oversight from the Boston Community Health Needs Assessment-Community Health Improvement Plan (CHNA-CHIP) Collaborative Steering Committee, the Project Director will be responsible for supporting all aspects of coordination of the Boston CHNA CHIP Collaborative, and staffing, coordination and implementation of triennial community health needs assessment and community health improvement plans, consistent with all statutory, administrative, and regulatory requirements applicable to Collaborative members. This includes coordinating, planning and executing all meetings and follow-up for the Collaborative Steering Committee, Operations Committee, Communications Committee, four CHIP Implementation Committees, and all associated working groups of the Collaborative, including planning and execution of at least one annual community meeting for Boston residents and stakeholders and monthly status reports for the Collaborative Steering Committee. The Project Director will also be responsible for all meeting planning, preparation and logistics, and managing the expenses and communication and technology needs of the Collaborative.

Duties

• Develop functional organizational structure and serve as the backbone of the Collaborative
• Advance racial equity and use equitable decision-making processes which center on community voice.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure successful implementation of projects according to plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Participate in the development and oversight of project budgets and proposals.
• Implement strategic plans and goals.
• Communicate and collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Problem-solve program and project issues; assist teams in resolution and successfully lead large teams to develop risk mitigation plans.
• Deliver constructive feedback while outlining and facilitate development plans where needed.
• Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of planned activities, as well as direct support to the Collaborative.
• Serve as lead strategic partner to advance equity through the Boston CHNA-CHIP.
• Work with the Boston Community Health Needs Assessment-Community Health Improvement Plan (CHNA-CHIP) Collaborative to leverage resources across multi-sector stakeholders to achieve the Implementation plan goals and objectives.
• Draft and present agendas, reports, presentations, memos, and other forms of communication.
• Supervise the CHNA-CHIP Project Coordinator.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field required.
• Five (5) years of experience in Public Health, Health Policy or related experience is required.
• Two (2) years supervisory experience required.
• Expert in the full lifecycle of project and program schedules of any size and type.
• Knowledge of the impact of structural and institutional racism, as well as other forms of structural violence, and inequity.
• Familiarity of Boston’s neighborhoods, particularly Boston neighborhoods with historically marginalized populations and poorer health outcomes
• Knowledge of designing and implementing public health programs. Four (4) years of program development, community health/outreach experience, would be ideal.
• Skill in facilitating groups.
• Ability to synthesize, prepare and present information, written and oral, including reports, presentations, and other materials in a clear, coherent, and concise manner.Skill in collecting and analyzing data.
• Demonstrated project management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment is required. Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

• Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
