Wheatley Institute engages students, scholars, thought leaders and the public in research-supported work the fortifies the core institutions of the family, religion, and constitutional government. Wheatley seeks a highly motivated half time employee to perform a variety of graphic design tasks related to social media and digital marketing. We are looking for an organized, self-driven individual to coordinate strategy, work with stakeholders and oversee the digital and photo/design teams. As the Digital Communications Specialist you will: participate in project management, create and execute strategic digital marketing campaigns; analyze website metrics and report key findings to stakeholders; help create graphics for digital mediums, and assist in various strategic communications and marketing projects.

**Essential Functions

Education/Experience:

Minimum education/experience required: Associate Degree in advertising/marketing/communications or related comparable experience

Preferred education/experience: Bachelor Degree with 1+ years experience

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications (please indicate whether “required” or “preferred”):

Required:

• Complete alignment with both the mission of BYU and Wheatley Institute
• 1-year previous marketing, advertising or social media management experience
• Extensive and complete working knowledge with social media platforms such as: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
• Adept in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) for graphic design work
• Understanding of Ads Manager or Facebook Business Manager
• Videography & editing skills such as: shooting interview videos with audio and lighting, filming b-roll and editing
• Willing to learn new things in the realm of digital marketing and content creation

Preferred:

• Management experience and project management skills
• Excellent time management-History of meeting deadlines
• Well-developed organizational, communication, and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization
• Ability to work well with others and feel comfortable speaking in front of a group
• Proficient in database and spreadsheet software use (Word, Excel, Google Drive)
• Communications writing experience and knowledge of AP style
• Experience creating graphics/images for social media posts
• Experience working with email newsletter programs, specifically Constant Contact
