Essential Functions
Oversee the new hire and onboarding process including, but not limited to recruiting, job placement, employee packets, pre-employment processes, new hire process, and hiring compliance (I-9 and eVerify).
Prepare and maintain all employee files, appropriate records, and documentation.
Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
Administer various human resources plan and procedures for all company employees; assists in the implementation of policies and procedures and maintain current policy manuals.
Perform benefit administration to include, change reporting, communicating benefit and enrollment information to employees.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and reporting requirements.
Report HR metrics and accomplishments monthly.
Perform data entry and data base maintenance to ensure all approved personnel action requests are processed accurately and on a timely basis for payroll processing; maintains effective and accurate filing systems that provide a quick reference database of records. This includes but is not limited to personnel records, applications dispositions forms, job postings, statistical reports for regulatory reporting, time sheets, etc.
Release information according to department and company policies and procedures. Audits files at specific intervals to identify and purge outdated or unnecessary items and ensures confidentiality of records.
Maintain a current knowledge of Employment and Human Resources laws and regulations that impact the department activities through workshops, seminars, and printed materials.
Handle employee relations counseling, through mediating disagreements, and administering employment decisions concerning new and existing employees.
Assume other duties as assigned by Director of Operations.
Education, Training, and Experience
Must have a minimum of 3+ years of related experience as a Human Resources Generalist or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. The following skills and traits are required:
A bachelor’s degree and three (3) years HR experience preferred, or equivalent of education and work experience.
Strong interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity.
Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation.
Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment.
Service oriented.
Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
Excellent presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Effectively communicate and interact with employees, internal and external clients.
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service; ability to remain calm and courteous when handling difficult calls and requests.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all documents and communications.
Ability to interpret and follow oral or documented procedures, instructions, laws and policies.
Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization.
Proficient in Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Human Resources certification is a plus.
