Nonclinical Research and Development (NCRD) is an integrated function with responsibility for characterizing nonclinical safety and disposition characteristics of the entire BMS Research and Development pipeline programs, with critical role from early discovery to submission of marketing authorization applications. We utilize our deep expertise in toxicology/pathology, ADME, PK/PD, biopharmaceutics and Bioanalytics in all modalities (small and large molecules, cellular therapies and other novel modalities) to collaborate with peer R&D functions to identify and solve issues, discover high quality drug candidates, enable their clinical development and successful marketing authorizations across the globe.

Position Summary
Collaborate with NCRD groups on planning and execution of outsourced studies. Manage and support DMPK/BA book of work, study contracts, payments and business relationships with preferred providers. Assist NCRD LT on initiatives to optimize operational processes and improve efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as business liaison and ensure appropriate CRO resources and plans are in place to execute studies in support of BMS portfolio. Provide input on CRO performance (when required).
Subject Matter Expert in Icertis, Ariba, SAP and any contract and payment facing application. Maintain an active role as business unit representative when BMS systems update or change. Train others as needed.
Oversee the creation & execution of individual study contracts, requisite POs and invoices for payment.
Organize and maintain NDB Study Tracker database, updating study info as needed.
Organize periodic meetings with CROs and/or NDB Contract Management Leads to ensure business issues are addressed/resolved and deliverables are being met.
Collaborate with Procurement to address in-company financial or regulatory audits. Provide all necessary documents and information until audit is complete and satisfied.
Collaborate with Procurement and BUY@BMS for vendor set-up and management in BMS financial systems (e.g., Ariba, SAP etc).
To support Finance provide periodic updates and projections on the outsourced BA CRO budget. In addition, create and present to management year-end NDB outsourcing financial summaries.
Represent NCRD Business Operations in internal and external meetings on outsourcing topics, including CRO periodic governance meetings.
Work on Ad-hoc assignments from NCRD management.
Qualifications & Experience
BS degree with 15 years’ experience, MS with 10 years’ experience, or PhD or equivalent with 5 years or more experience in conducting or monitoring the conduct of toxicology studies.
Knowledge of BA, DMPK and Tox in drug development
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven ability to interact in a matrix environment (with contractors, peers, finance, and all levels of management).
Mastery of principles of effective written and oral communication
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, worldwide and regulatory requirements, and drug development processes.
Significant experience in managing, reviewing, negotiating, executing, and implementing contracts in a high volume area.
Track record of highly ethical, and compliant behavior, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work across boundaries, using influencing skills to partner and build consensus with various stakeholders to form strong, productive partnerships and get results, driving the execution of contracts and meeting deadlines.
