Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will assist in managing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits administration, monitoring leaves, employee events, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinates employee training, meetings, and events.
Maintain HR department files (i.e., I-9s, personnel and medical)
Maintains uniform inventory and orders to replenish when needed.
Keeps all company announcements up to date (e.g., bulletin boards and digital communication)
Posts job openings in the ATS, reviews applicant resumes and coordinates phone and in-person interviews with the hiring manager.
Processes background checks and drug screens.
Conducts new hire orientation.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; recognition, and morale; training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, when necessary.
Knowledgeable with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a minimum of 5 years of human resource management experience or a combination of education and experience.
SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility – None
Work Environment – This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands – This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
