The role of the Junior Designer is to assist the Senior Designer in creating and executing design plans for the firm’s projects by working in tandem with the design team, including the project manager.
Responsibilities include are but are not limited to:
Conceive and execute comprehensive design presentations for multiple active projects.
Generate, maintain, and update any required materials and finish schedules (Paint, Hardware, Tile, Stone, Plumbing, etc.) and ensure that all schedules match the project plans and elevations.
Support the design team’s overall design and project vision with inspiration images, material samples, and presentation/ mood boards.
Manage all FFE orders from A-Z, including shipping and delivery.
Maintain and organize the design library, and source new materials as needed in the SF Design Center or other showrooms. If not familiar with the local sources, the team will provide guidance and training.
Attend client meetings, on-site or in the office, as needed and take comprehensive notes to be distributed to the design team.
Produce and present design concepts that align with the overall project & brand vision.
Perform field measures, product inventory, and research.
Develop and maintain an accurate product line list used by cross-functional teams to determine product assortment.
Develop and maintain accurate technical specifications for each product, working closely with the Production Manager.
Maintain professional relationships with vendors, contractors, clients, and the team.
Generate and submit client estimates, proposals, and invoices.
Receive, review, approve or resolve and file all CFA’s and related backup paperwork in client files.
Track all purchase orders and enter the status of shipping and receiving our shared project Drive and schedule and execute project installations
Oversee Interns and design library (carpets, fabrics, stone, tiles, etc.) and organize sample and material returns.
Maintain organization of client bins, filing of backup documentation and vendor P/Os
Drive to various job sites, San Francisco Design Center, and other local Showrooms
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience as a Designer
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Highly effective at quick and independent decision making
Practical time management skills and the ability to toggle from independent projects to teamwork as needed
Ability to conceive & communicate strategic and tactical concepts
Strong working knowledge of Pinterest, HOUZZ
Proficiency with Excel, G Suite
Certification or Degree in Interior Design
Desirable Qualifications but not a requirement:
Proficiency with AutoCAD
