BSA is acclaimed for its superior quality and customer service. The General Medical 5A/B floor is a 45-bed unit consisting of general medical patients with a mix of Cardio IMCU and Med-Surg overflow. The routine patient to nurse ratio fluctuates with patient census; unit goal is 5 to 1 ratio. The unit is supported by a team consisting of the unit secretary, Patient Care Technicians, Transporters, Nutrition Ambassadors, RN’s, LVN’s, RN Shift Supervisor, a Clinical Educator, a Manager and the Director working as a cohesive team to ensure excellent patient care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members. Licenses and Certifications: Current Texas RN license or GN Permit CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Previous nurse tech or staff nursing experience EKG experience preferred Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process Organized, self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills Computer skills necessary; EMR EPIC documentation Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions Clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals Compassionate customer service skills Committed to patient and family satisfaction
