The Position – Controller

We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Controller. This person must possess attention to detail and a sense of urgency. The Controller is responsible for the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on position that includes leadership and execution around the accounting cycle, public quarterly accounting, annual audit and tax, budgeting, and reporting. The Controller will also work closely with Executive Management as this is a key role within the organization.

The successful candidate is a detail-oriented finance and accounting professional with a strong understanding of GAAP accounting, SEC Reporting/Compliance, a passion for operational excellence, experience working in high-growth organizations and a strong ambition to grow and succeed.

This position reports to the Head of Finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience within a growing company in financial services, SaaS, Software Development or Marketing

• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Controller

• Public company reporting experience required

• Solid GAAP knowledge required

• Audit experience preferred

• Experience working with a company with $10M+ in revenue

• Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets advanced user

• Experience with QuickBooks On-Line

• Experience with M&A a plus

• Hands-on experience, roll your sleeve up mentality, able to dig into and understand details

Day-to-Day Activities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations

• Lead quarterly and annual financial audit process

• Own, execute and complete the accounting period closing processes within seven business days from prior month end

• Consolidation of four entities into Business Warrior Corp

• Prepare monthly financial statements

• Work with tax advisors and systems to complete periodic tax filings

• Ensure fidelity of internal controls, policies and procedures

• Prepare and distribute reporting packages

• Develop budgets and re-forecasts, working closely with the Head of Finance

• Ensure professional general ledger execution

• Send out invoices to customers

• Post customer payments to the ledger

Compensation: $70 – $90k. We offer a competitive base salary which will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise.
