JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for property employee relations and engagement through the development and implementation of programs that foster a positive work environment through fairness and respect for all employees. Seeks out, interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill existing company job openings.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s/department’s policies. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns of subordinates; and resolving problems within the department.
• Prepares budgets, reports, and presentations.
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
• Promote outstanding guest and employee relations.
• Manages employee relation activities to include employee relations, engagement events, and investigations.
• Ensures fair treatment and satisfactory work environment by providing advisory services, interpretation, and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Partners with departments to maximize efficient, effective internal service.
• Provides recommendations for changes/enhancements to property programs to increase employee satisfaction and retention of high performing employees.
• Responds to and interacts with federal, state, and local agencies (EEOC, DOL, Unemployment).
• Conducts investigations as needed.
• Oversees the communication and distribution of collateral for employee benefits to include coordination of open enrollment sessions.
• Responsible for Leave Administration. Manages the leave of absence process to include FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests, reviews, and approvals.
• Identifies trends and implements new practices in area compensation and benefits packages by keeping track of prevailing pay rates and labor market competitor compensation and benefit packages.
• Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of employee compensation and benefit programs.
• Is responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all payrolls.
• Reviews or directs the review of the accuracy of employee records to ensure proper recording and reporting of payroll information.
• Verifies or directs the verification of new or changed pay rates.
• Reviews payrolls for accuracy.
• Identifies attributes of high potential employees through behavior based/structured interviews.
• Partners with departments to understand their operation, staffing needs, and essential functions of open positions.
• Contacts and develops relationships with colleges and other accredited educational institutions, local and state agencies, and other organizations that will assist in identifying new applicants.
• Participates in and helps coordinate job fairs to attract new employees.
• Corresponds with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration.
• Files and maintains employment record for future references.
• Post open positions to applicant tracking system, various job boards, and local colleges and universities.
• Extends offers of employment and conducts drug testing and background checks on candidates accepting employment.
• Schedules, instructs, and administers necessary assessments for all internal and external candidates.
• Hires new employees in Oracle system.
• As needed, supports all functions of Human Resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A four-year degree from an accreditedcollege is required. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. A minimum of 4 years of Human Resource experience as a supervisor or in a leadership role. A minimum of 1-2 years experience as a recruiter or in employment administration required.

• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, performance consulting and facilitation skills.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have thorough knowledge of employment laws and fair treatment policies.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have a professional appearance and be a team player.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the building; from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
• Must be able to lift, carry and/or push a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
