Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences – Genetics
The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Genetics at the level of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates will complement an inclusive and innovative faculty that is committed to student success both in the classroom and the research laboratory. The Department offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in Biology (concentrations in Ecology, Animal Physiology, Molecular Cell Biology, and General Biology), Biotechnology, and Wildfire Science. The Department also offers a research-based Master of Science Program in Biology and a Professional Science Master’s program in Biotechnology.

Duties:
The successful candidate will contribute to Biology course instruction at the lower-division, upper-division, and graduate levels. They will also be given the opportunity to develop new undergraduate and graduate lecture and/or laboratory courses in their area of expertise. The successful candidate will develop an independently-funded research program involving CSUSM students. In addition to modest opportunities for internal research funding, there is wide-spread support for the attainment of external research monies. The successful candidate will also participate in activities serving the department, college, university and community.
