We are looking for an experienced Build Engineer to join our infrastructure team. We seek someone who has skills in using Bamboo, expertise in CI/CD systems, web-based application architectures coupled with a passion for designing and supporting large-scale high performance web services and applications.
This person will be responsible for the support and maintenance of our primary bamboo build system that supports our entire development group. In this role you will assist development teams in creating highly performant and reliable build plans and help to guide the organization towards best practices and standardization across teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Availability and stability of our bamboo build system
Identify technical and process improvement opportunities and socialize/advocate to get them implemented;
Troubleshoot build and deployment problems, suggest improvements and technical solutions;
Provides process improvement recommendations based on best practices and industry standards;
Create or maintain documentation for build systems and environments;
Provide assistance for development and QA environments issues and build delivery
Proactively monitor build system health for potential issues and take action to preserve SLAs.
Work with other members of infrastructure team to create and maintain a disaster recovery strategy
Create test environment for verifying upgrades and/or risky configuration changes
Job Requirements:
Working knowledge of build delivery systems such as Bamboo or Jenkins.
Systems experience on Linux (CentOS), bare-metal and virtual machines, in both dedicated and cloud environments, AWS, along with tools such as Chef and Puppet.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking as it pertains to web applications
Experience with or interest in learning apache configuration and performance tuning for large-scale web applications and APIs.
Knowledge of version control systems (preferably git);
Basic operational knowledge of load balancers, firewalls, web servers.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent engineering experience
4+ years of experience in software development
Ability to take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution, strong problem-solving skills.
Bonus Qualifications:
Current experience at scale in cloud infrastructure such as AWS
Understanding of network stack, network tuning, subnet/VLANs
Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios and Splunk
Experience in developing for scalable, high-performance server applications
