Web Application Developer
CannaBuddy is expanding its current operations and we are looking for a Web Application Developer to join our team. The web application developer will work directly with the CEO to manage and maintain various web properties. You’ll be joining an established cannabis company with an eye on aggressive growth. You’ll bring a proven track record of success building, maintaining, and optimizing web properties. You know your way around a LAMP technology stack like the back of your hand and can build great big things that users can’t get enough of.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with the CEO to maintain existing web properties, roll out new features, and build out new web properties
- Produce clean, well-documented code, that’s optimized for performance
- Have a keen eye for UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience)
- Understand the end-user’s needs to provide the best possible experience
Required Experience
Our ideal candidate:
- Has at least 10 years of a proven track record of success in full-stack web application development, preferably in the Cannabis, Health & Wellness, or similar sectors. (Regardless of industry experience, if you’re a good software engineer, we want to hear from you!)
- Is self-motivated and results-driven. Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and has a passion for Cannabis products.
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Holds a valid driver license.
- Is a US Citizen.
Our ideal candidate has at least 5 to 10 years of experience with the following:
- Full-lifecycle web application development using a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) tech stack (10 yrs)
- Common scripting languages, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (10 yrs)
- Common database languages, including SQL (10 yrs)
- WordPress development experience (5 yrs)
- WooCommerce development experience (5 yrs)
- Writing clean, well-documented, reusable code that’s optimized for performance (10 yrs)
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and so on) (5 yrs)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and so on) (10 yrs)
Our ideal candidate has any / some experience with the following:
- Structured Data / Schema Markup
- Schema App
- Graphic design
- SEO (Search Engine Optimization) principles and techniques
- Copywriting (e.g. writing keyword-rich content for blog posts, products, and so on)
- Website Accessibility (WCAG 2.0; Section 508)
- CRM (Customer Relationship Management) applications such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, SugarCRM, Zendesk, and so on
- Advertising and marketing principles and techniques
- Social media management

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000
