Canyon Contracting, Inc. is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join their team. The Human Resources Manager position is responsible for the overall HR function for the company, including Human Resources Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Employee & Labor Relations, Disciplinary Policy and Procedure Administration, Training and Development, Salary and Wage Administration, Compliance Management, Employee Benefits, and Payroll assistance.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with all internal and external HR related manners
Lead the development of HR organizational guidelines and company procedures
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Manage the entire HR function including recruiting, training and development, benefits, wage and salary administration, employee relations, payroll, administration, and compliance with government regulations
Perform general payroll processes and prepare and submit certified payroll reports for Davis Bacon jobs as well as assist with job set up and other compliance matters
Coordinate weekly payroll and time-sheet entries; review payroll reports and make / request corrections as needed
Responsible for the Recruitment and the Talent Acquisition process which entails sourcing and screening top candidates, coordinating the interview process, facilitating offers and managing the New Hire Orientation process
Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Process, record and monitor employee vacation and other similar timely requests like FMLA, leave of absence, lay off status, sick leave, etc.
Manage general company benefits in addition to vacation, sick leave, cobra, etc.
Produce reports as needed for management and other departments
Assist with internal and external audits
Handles and attends unemployment claims/hearings and manage worker comp cases.
Other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university is desired or seven (7) plus years of HR Generalist experience which includes 3-5 years’ experience managing payroll or the equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ yrs of HR experience in the Construction Industry is highly preferred
Bilingual- English/Spanish is required
Outstanding communication and multitasking skills required
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to learn a new software
Previous experience with certified payroll processes/Construction or similar industry desired
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university is desired or seven (7) plus years of HR Generalist experience which includes 3-5 years’ experience managing payroll or the equivalent combination of education and experience
PHR or SHRM-SCP certifications highly desired
