Spanish Teacher Opportunity

Cape Cod Academy is seeking a full time upper and middle school Spanish teacher beginning with the 2021-22 academic school year. The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator, skilled at teaching all levels of Spanish, including Advanced Placement. Cape Cod Academy currently offers Spanish from Kindergarten through grade 12. The World Language department is working to develop a more cohesive program that flows seamlessly from lower school to middle school and then to upper school. We are actively working to create a program that inspires students to continue their study of Spanish as they transition onward and upward. A comprehensive language offering is a unique aspect of Cape Cod Academy’s program of study, and one that is not common in any school in our vicinity. It is our intention to develop this as a standout program.

More specifically, you will:
· Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives
· Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning
· Responsible for developmentally appropriate instruction in all subject areas including a focus on social-emotional learning
· Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction
· Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs
· Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research
· Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance
· Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
· Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school’s standards and school policies, and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future. In addition, to be a good fit for the Spanish Teacher opportunity, you will have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Education
· 3 plus years of Spanish teaching experience
· Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; skill and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
· Self-motivation and the ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities
· Solid computer skills
