Role & Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivery of world-class Interior Components through collaboration with Interior Design and Systems Engineering teams
• Create industry-leading Interior Components and Systems with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality
• Provide support to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems
• Work proactively with cross-functional teams such as marketing, design, and vehicle engineering to place priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system
• Collaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery
• Create concepts to supporting parts into production

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented Interior Components and Systems Development engineer in one or more areas of focus: Hard Trim, Soft Trim, IP, Door Trims, Consoles, Headliners, etc
• Expertise of automotive Interior Components and Systems industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier competencies
• Expertise in creating and improving technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP
• Expertise in using CATIA V5/V6 to create 2D/3D concept drawings, Interior Components and Systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies
• Expertise in the design and development of Hard Trim, with a good understanding of materials, Injection Molding, Thermo-forming, Vacuum Forming, Plastic Casting, Decorative Processes, and Light Weighting strategies
• Proficient in DFMEA, GD&T, DVP Creation
