HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
Cardinal FG, a world class glass manufacturer in Durant, Oklahoma is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. This individual will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level, while working closely with other members of the HR department. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Assistant is responsible for performing administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s HR department. Because this plant runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year the position requires the willingness to occasionally work a flexible schedule with extended hours which includes being on call.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Payroll functions including processing, data entry, answering employee questions, and fixing processing errors.
Benefit administration, including medical, FMLA, disability, 401K and profit sharing.
Recruiting, advertising, interviewing and hiring of employees.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Maintains accurate and up-do-date HR files, records and documentation.
Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, pre-employment testing, etc.
Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties and retirement and anniversary celebrations.
Provides clerical support to the HR department and help with coverage of the front desk.
Provides back up support for Accounts Payable.
Ordering, maintaining, organizing office supplies and supply closet.
Producing yearly work schedule calendars, update employee roster.
Completion, updates and distribution of a variety of reports.
Education/knowledge requirements:
Associates degree in related field preferred.
Prior related office experience preferred.
Skills needed:
Strong interpersonal skills – excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to resolve conflicts and build relationships with/between employees and managers.
Ability to comfortably speak in front of large groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resources information systems and similar computer applications.
