Career Center of Southern Illinois Hiring for High School English Teacher Job at Red Bud, IL Full Time

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Normal work day for full time staff will be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Preparation time will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated as negotiated in school board policies.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the Center.
• Prepares for assigned classes, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the administration.
• Maintains acceptable standards of student classroom behavior.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Evaluates students’ progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and Center policy.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing Center rules and Board of Control Policy.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
• Assists in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Participates in professional growth through an ongoing program of workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning as provided for in the negotiated board contract.
• Participates in any other duties as assigned by the Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year established by the negotiated teacher contract.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the administrative staff according to State standards and using the negotiated evaluator instrument.

Qualifications

Interested candidates must have or be eligible for an Illinois Teaching Certificate. Previous teaching experience is desired.
