Your Job Summary:

The primary role of the Data Analyst is to provide support for data information needs in the medical management departments. The Analyst is responsible for monitoring files and reviewing error reports throughout the encounter process. They work closely with Health Networks to resolve data issues. Develop and design reports; create and maintain databases to support the business requirements of the team; continually improves data acquisition and reporting methods. Responsible for exception reporting to ensure routine, timely, and accurate data submissions to state and federal agencies.

Your Background:

Requires an education level of at least a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field is highly preferred.
Prefer, but does not require, a Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or similar.
Around 3-5 years of health data analysis experience, preferably in managed care environment.
Strong working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to managed care / practice management.
Established experience with MS Access to create report and design databases; competence with the process of data retrieval from data warehouses and databases.
Highly prefer SQL and VBA knowledge; ANSI 4010/5010 837 experience.
Basic familiarity with medical terminology and/or medical coding is a plus.
Knowledge of health care delivery system, Medicaid/Medicare and related state programs is a significant plus.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and basic data entry, including the ability to manipulate data and produce charts/reports applicable to reporting requests.

Your Duties:

• Design reports from the Data Warehouse as needed and with limited assistance. Responsible for the assurance of data integrity.
• Interacts with existing Health Networks to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of current encounter data reporting requirements, including the ANSI 5010 837I and 837P formats, in order to evaluate data submitted by health networks, provide feedback, resolve data integrity issues, and provide support for encounter reporting requirements.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of the DHCS, MRMIB, and CMS data reporting requirements, and reports on any changes that affect the health plan and/or contracted health networks.
• Works with health networks in test status (new and existing networks) to ensure successful testing of new data elements, file formats, or other changes when necessary.
• Refers complex data integrity issues to the Senior Data Analyst and eBusiness/Encounters Manager for further evaluation and action as needed.
• Ad-hoc analyses, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
