*Responsibilities:*
* In the absence of the Director of Nursing, undertakes the director of nursing duties.
* Interprets service needs, to the Administrator, and acts as a client services administrative liaison.
* Consults, plan, and work with the Administrator, in policy formulation and programmatic development and implementation, including assessing adequate and appropriate staffing.
* Consult with supervisors and staff, individually or in groups, regarding patients or families, special programs, or service programs.
* Evaluates the program, services, and field personnel.
* Directs the implementation of service goals and objectives.
* Develops standards that ensure safe, and effective, services to clients and families.
* Keeps program personnel up to date with state-of-the-art clinical information and practices staff development, including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education.
* Directs staff in performance of their duties.
* Oversee the implementation, and evaluation, of client care services inclusive of regulatory licensure and certification criteria and accreditation standards.
* Coordinates with other program areas and senior management, as appropiate, according to the organizational structure.
* Acts as liaison with staff development for program areas.
* Assesses appropiate staff supervision, during all service hours.
* Participates in selected orientation programs.
* Oversees all CQI and utilization review activities.
* Serves on, and periodically reviews policies relevant to patient care with, the QAPI Committee.
* Consults with physicians in matters relating to patient care services.
* Coordinates patient care.
* Do patient nursing visits if needed.
* Coordinates referrals.
* Ensures that patient needs are continually assessed.
* Ensures the development implementation, and updates of the individualized plan of care.
* Assists with interviews, and hires, select home healthcare nurse professionals.
Qualifications:
* At least 1 year of home care experience.
* Must be a registered nurse.
