We are seeking to hire a Director of Logistics to join our team based at our corporate headquarters located in Andover, MA, USA about 30 minutes north of Boston. For the right candidate, we will consider other locations besides Andover, MA, USA.

The Director of Logistics will impact the company by being responsible for the logistics functions Globally including shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Oversee all related logistics activities and be responsible for transaction processing to result in accurate control of worldwide inventory and customer satisfaction with respect to on time delivery and responsiveness in accordance with business objectives and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities at all sites.
• Maintain inventory accuracy at 99.9%.
• Assure timely fulfillment of sales orders and RMA repair and replacement orders.
• Work closely with contract manufacturers and subcontract logistics centers to maintain desired stocking levels and assure on time delivery.
• Select and manage freight carriers, couriers, and logistics suppliers, including negotiating terms and contracts for carriers and freight forwarding. Manage an effective process for international shipping including knowledge of export licensing requirements.
• Manage the process to receive and distribute all incoming items. Verify accuracy of all incoming shipments against packing slips and maintain effective working relationship with accounting to assure prompt and accurate records and invoice payments.
• Select vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain an adequate supply of all shipping supplies and materials.
• Manage personnel effectively in these functional areas, including performance evaluations and time management.
• Interacts with all levels of management and employees, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
• Export compliance for international shipments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of international shipping experience, including Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control personnel management experience.
• University degree preferred.
• Proven Project Management experience.
• Experience in an electronic product subcontract manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling procedures.
• Able to communicate clearly both written and orally.
• Contract Negotiation skills.
• Assertive, self-starter, energetic, and well organized.
• Computer literate. Windows: Word, Excel, and ERP/MRP system experience.
• Able to travel including periodic overnight international travel.
• Able to work extended hours when necessary.
• Able to move around facilities to meet with employees and service providers.
• Proven ability and experience to adapt to frequent changes in priorities and requirements, and to deliver quality products with an aggressive schedule in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicates effectively in writing and verbally as appropriate for the needs of the the audience.
