Castilleja Hiring for Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice at Palo Alto, CA Full Time

The Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice oversees
the development of an integrated curricular program that expands students’ understanding of equity and social justice through experiential
education and reports to the Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community. As a school that seeks to cultivate women leaders who
will work to dismantle systems of inequality, this position is tasked with ensuring that the schools Antiracism Competencies are integrated
throughout the 6-12 student experience. This position also plays an integral role in developing vision and strategy on behalf of and
alongside students that fosters a sense of belonging and community. The Dean will work to ensure systems are in place to promote equal
access to success and extracurriculars at Castilleja.  

ACE Center Oversight:

In this
capacity, this position will oversee the integration of experiential learning into all aspects of the 6-12 student experience with a focus
on equity, social justice, and leadership both in the Castilleja community and beyond. The Director of Global Education, the Director of
Leadership and the ACE Administrative Assistant will report to the Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design Antiracist programming and curriculum for students
  6-12
• Oversee the design and development of a comprehensive 6-12 experiential learning program that incorporates Learning and
  Leading Competencies, Antiracist Competencies, and Interdisciplinary Content Areas in collaboration with the Director of Global Education
  and Director of Leadership
• Provide training and support to faculty in developing and integrating antiracism competencies into the
  MS and US student experience
• Address services and support for families, particularly families of color, families whose primary
  language is other than English, and those new to independent schools to ensure access to all Castilleja services and activities.
• Help to develop and implement Restorative Justice practices at Castilleja
• Affinity Groups
  • Develop and oversee
    structure and content for student affinity groups
  • Provide logistical support and guidance for parent affinity groups
  • Collaborate with the Alumni Outreach and Development Associate to provide logistical support and guidance for alumni affinity
    groups
• Serve as a member of the Curriculum Council
• Partner with Admissions to recruit a diverse student body
  that embraces the school’s values
• Collaborate with Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community to support CSA
  parent association Equity Committee
• Collaborate with Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Community on Parent Education to
  align with student experience
• Provide oversight for Peninsula Bridge Summer Program

• Possess exceptional
  written, oral, and cross-cultural communication skills

• Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  with others
• Have demonstrated experience in building and implementing student programming that center on equity and social
  justice
• Nurture optimism, flexibility, and a sense of humor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s
  degree; Master’s degree in education or an applicable field preferred
• Three or more years experience working on equity and
  social justice education
• Teaching experience preferred
• Evidence of successful management of cross-disciplinary and
  collaborative teams
