The Director, Human Resource provides leadership in developing and executing Human Resources Strategy and Initiatives to support the overall business plan. As a member of the Management Team, serves as a strategic business advisor regarding key organizational and management needs while providing guidance and oversight of performance management, employee relations, labor relations, leader development, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, engagement, talent management, as well as, general HR policy administration.Responsibilities:
- Build organizational cohesion, health and flexibility, as well as providing strategic guidance in the day-to-day management to achieve flawless execution.
- Create the right environment as a champion for HR initiatives, employee advocacy and will partner with Center of Excellence teams in support and guidance of talent recruitment, organization design, employee development, pay planning, labor relations, talent review and succession planning, as applicable.
- Provide oversight to resolve employee relations issues in a balanced, fair, and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and other problem resolution techniques.
- Partner and consult with managers to drive change initiatives that enhance business performance.
- Proactively identify business and HR objectives/expectations; develop, manage or participate in project teams as appropriate to achieve desired results in a timely manner.
- Provide oversight in the management of Labor Relations and the Collective Bargaining Agreements/Process to ensure effective contract administration, grievance processing, performance management and disciplinary activities, as well as facilitating on-going communication and working relationships with employee representative organizations and operational stakeholders.
- Serve as the lead negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations and maintains positive relationships with union groups.
- Provide HR support to Leadership regarding HR matters including, but not limited to: evaluation of HR policies, legal implications related to employee counseling, conflict resolution, employee grievances, and corrective action (including termination of employment).
- This position will support a large union represented manufacturing facility and will have 1 direct report.
Qualifications:
- 5+ Years of extensive Director level Human Resource experience preferred
- Minimum of 5-8 years multi-site HR Leadership manufacturing experience preferred
- 10-15 Years of extensive Labor Relations experience required including 10-15 years experience of practical application of collective bargaining and employment laws and 5-10 years experience as a lead negotiator for collective bargaining agreements with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Recent progressive and HR experience in a complex organization with diverse cultures, and operating environments, including experience providing forward-facing strategic recommendations and working with senior leadership.
- Increasing levels of responsibility to include a broad HR Generalist background with experience in multiple disciplines such as labor relations, employee relations, workforce planning, talent management, talent development, performance management, compensation, and more.
- Experience in organizational development and change management.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with quickly shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and to manage time effectively.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
