College Registrar

Centenary College of Louisiana seeks a strategic
and creative leader who is passionate about students and their success. The College Registrar plays an essential role in Centenary

Centenary College of
Louisiana, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and
nominations for the position of College Registrar. Under the leadership of the Provost, the College Registrar directs and
manages all administrative, operational, and technical functions of the Office of the Registrar.

The College Registrar should be an
experienced, innovative, and dynamic leader who has a developed vision for the functioning of a technologically sophisticated
Registrar’s Office. The College Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic and educational records of
Centenary College students and alumni and helps to ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies. The College
Registrar enforces academic policies and regulations of the College and leads a professional team who coordinates functions vital to the
institution such as course scheduling and registration, academic traditions and ceremonies, as well as the matriculation of new first-year,
transfer, and graduate students.

The College: A selective, private coeducational institution
founded in 1825, nationally recognized Centenary is the 43^rd oldest college in the United States. The 117-acre campus is located
in Shreveport, LA, and is home to 600 students. Centenary ranks #1 in the nation among baccalaureate colleges for sending students abroad,
including the Centenary in Paris program for all first-year students. The College prepares global citizens to live productive lives

The Position: The College Registrar position will require both broad oversight as well as a
hands-on management style, including a working knowledge of current best practices in student registration and records. The College
Registrar serves as a key member of the administrative team and oversees the management of the Office of the Registrar. This role sets the
strategic and operational direction and goals for the office, while planning, organizing, and managing resources, staff, and activities to
achieve the mission and goals of the College. The essential functions of the position include:

• Lead the Office in its role to
  support student success;
• Manage, maintain, and safeguard the academic records of all students enrolled at the College;
• Communicate with key administrators and partner with Centenary’s academic leadership team to support the effective functioning of
  the College;
• Assess and analyze business processes to ensure alignment with student outcomes and other institutional goals;
• Mentor and lead the Registrar’s Office staff members with particular attention to professional development as well as to creating
  and maintaining an environment inclusive of the racial, ethnic, and other personal identities of its staff;
• Build and maintain
  relationships with College-based records and advising offices to promote collaborative efforts to guide students through academic policies
  and processes;
• Ensure the accurate awarding of academic credit in accordance with Centenary College policy including transfer
  students enrolling each year;
• Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, security, and integrity of student records and the Centenary
  degree;
• Issue official transcripts and certifications and ensure compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
  (FERPA) as well as other federal, state, and regional regulations relating to enrollment, academic records, security, and awarding of
  academic credit;
• Support all College retention efforts and ensure compliance with the National Student Clearinghouse;
• Oversee the effective use of systems for student information (Banner), including training, reporting, and processes related hereto,
  course scheduling, space scheduling, and other functions that relate to the duties of the College Registrar;
• Plan and oversee
  student orientation, pre-registration, and the registration process including course assignments, drop-add matters, and course changes;
• Follow the AACRAO principles of professional ethics and practices; and
• Serve on a variety of academic committees and task
  forces; participate in discussions regarding implementation of and modifications to enrollment, academic, and records policies and
  procedures.

the northeast corner of the state near the Texas and Arkansas borders, and within easy driving distance to major metropolitan areas such as
Dallas, Houston, and New Orleans, Shreveport is home to nearly 400,000 and is a thriving locality with year-round festivals and outdoor

Qualifications: The selected candidate should possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree,
  Masters Preferred, from a regionally accredited institution.
• Five years of experience in higher education with a work background
  that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility for and a comprehensive understanding of complex academic administrative
  services;
• Demonstrated excellent customer and student service orientation and attention to detail;
• Strong verbal, written,
  and communication skills;
• Record of successful leadership in the use and understanding of technology solutions including student
  information systems, classroom scheduling and optimization systems, degree audit systems, reporting to appropriate agencies, and use of
  query tools for the extracting and reporting of student information;
• Extensive knowledge and experience with FERPA and other
  related federal regulations relating to higher education;
• Exceptional management, problem solving, administrative, analytical,
  interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
• Ability to organize and analyze data to support decision-making at the
  department, division, and university levels;
• Adaptability, strong critical judgment, and a commitment to diversity and
  teamwork;
• Ability to work harmoniously and collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other
  constituents.
