This posting is for the 2022-2023 School Year.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily effective differentiated instruction
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources, student needs, curriculum (FOSS), content, and pedagogy
- Set instructional outcomes
- Design student assessments
- Create an environment of respect and rapport
- Establish a culture of learning
- Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
- Communicate directions, expectations, procedures, and content with students
- Engage students in learning with quality questioning and discussion techniques
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
- Use student data to inform instruction and integrate differentiated instruction
- Engage parents and families in their child’s academic success by fostering an ongoing relationship centered around hopes and dreams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Participate in the Center City PCS learning community via PLC’s, campus/district professional development, and weekly campus based grade-level planning sessions
- Reflect on teaching by accepting ongoing informal feedback and implement changes based on that feedback
- Follow school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality (teacher hours are 8:00AM – 4:00PM)
- Attend and participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours
Qualifications
- Has a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or an applicable subject area
- Passing Praxis scores
- Has a minimum of two years of teaching experience (preferred)
- Demonstrates ability to use data to assess student learning, with evidence of growth
- References that reflect high standing with past employer
- Able to lift up to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours
Must be able to show proof of full vaccination for COVID-19
