Committees, and regional human rights bodies, led the development of historic, proactive legislation advancing robust protections for reproductive rights, and has built the legal capacity of women’s rights advocates in more than 60 countries.To learn more about the Center for Reproductive Rights, go to www.reproductiverights.org.The Role: Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Development Department Coordinator will be a key partner to the CDO and serve as a liaison to the Development team and the entire organization. The Department Coordinator will help coordinate and support the CDO by effectively liaising with other coordinators project managers across the Executive Team, the Office of the President and the Board of Directors. The Department Coordinator will help manage internal departmental communication during this time of significant growth and design and implement processes and systems that effectively support the department and increase efficiency.This position will be based in New York.Primary Responsibilities:* Partner with the CDO on day-to-day issues and special projects to streamline the work of the Development department, providing project management, research and analysis;* Serve as a positive and collaborative liaison across the organization, and work across departments with other coordinators to facilitate and contribute to improved cross-organizational systems and processes* Run key department meetings and events; including taking notes, tracking actions and facilitating next steps;* Coordinate annual departmental work planning processes in conjunction with relevant stakeholders;* Develop and manage systems for collaboration across the department and organization to improve and increase CDO’s communication flow within and across departments; ensuring consistency and transparency;* Maintain department calendar of events, activities, and meetings* Maintain a high-level of understanding of development initiatives and timelines and hold broader department accountable to meeting deadlines;* Support the CDO in tracing their donor interactions and ensure the CDO is prepared for donor interactions and meetings;* Coordinate support to Board members for their participation in fundraising efforts and in managing the Development Committee;* Coordinate compilation of departmental Board reports on behalf of the CDO;* Serve as a liaison between the Development team and the Office of the President to optimize efficacy and understanding;* Develop standardized onboarding plans, and provide guidance and resources for new staff in conjunction with hiring managers;* Participate, as needed, on key interdepartmental teams or meetings to represent the needs of the CDO; and* Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:* University Degree (baccalaureate or higher) in relevant field* 5+ years of relevant work experience* Demonstrated commitment to the mission* Flexibility and ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment* Fluency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook* Excellent interpersonal skills* Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, while also collaborating in a team setting* The ability to complete assignments in a timely manner, often under considerable time pressure, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously* Commitment to human rights, reproductive rights, and/or women’s rights generally* Capacity to receive and accept constructive feedback* Exceptional organizational and time-management skills* Steadfast attention to detailCritical Competencies:* Collaborative: An empathetic, approachable team player who engenders trust and confidence, with an inherent ability to interact positively with all members of the Center staff.
